A bedroom is considered by most to be their sanctuary. The place you sleep and spend your downtime. Bedrooms typically include a bed, furniture, and usually, some decor to express ourselves. Decorations are fun and cute, and for many of us, they complement our personality or display the different things we like. But these decorations don't always do a whole lot for us.
What if I let you in on a recent discovery of mine? It has to do with a specific item you can put in your room to help you sleep. If you're anything like me, you're probably asking, "What is this secret decoration, and where can I get one?" Well, luckily for you, I have all the information you need.
Are you ready to know what it is?
Plants!
Yes, you read that right! Plants are the cure to not only your insomnia but also to your decor needs. In recent studies, it has come to light that plants can help you sleep better.
Now you may be wondering, "How can a plant help me sleep at night?" Well, as many of you know, plants help purify the air we breathe. Purifying our air helps us sleep better. Plants release oxygen, which, if you didn't know, we need to live.
I have compiled a list of some of the best plants to use to decorate your room while improving your sleep at night. I have also picked these plants based on their needs like sunlight, water, and so forth. All of these require little to no sunlight.
Areca Palm: These plants not only help increase the amount of humidity in your room, which is excellent for individuals who need to use humidifiers, but they also create an exotic atmosphere. With air-purifying properties and the ability to increase humidity levels, Areca Palms are a perfect addition to your room! |
Chinese Evergreen: Is the palm a little too big for your room, or maybe not the vibe you are wanting? Then the Chinese Evergreen is right up your alley. These plants increase your oxygen levels and purify the air at the same time. And, they make perfect furniture decorations! |
Gerbera Daisy: Where are my flower girls? Now, as much as we love a good plant, flowers are just as great. These cute, dainty flowers will not only add simple beauty to your room but also purify the air so you can get a better night's rest. |
Peace Lily: The Areca Palm gives off a tropical vibe, and if you are into that, here's the perfect plant to accompany it. These strange-looking blooms also increase humidity while filtering out toxins. However, these plants are toxic if consumed, so make sure to keep them out of reach from animals and small children. |
I don't know about you, but I am ready to go to the nearest plant nursery and buy myself some sleep-aiding plants! These are just a few to get you started. If you decide to buy some of your own, make sure to post a picture, tag us @svenandson, and use the hashtag #plantsforroommates.
